Third Week of Advent - Joy

The Holy Spirit will teach us all things.  The Bible is excellent for GENERAL guidance (knowing right from wrong, reaching the lost, feeding the hungry, etc.) but not so good for SPECIFIC guidance. Should I marry ________________? Should I take the job promotion in Omaha even though my family is all here? What should I say to a neighbor who has lost his daughter in a car accident. 

For specific guidance we need the Holy Spirit. 

Practicalities on how to listen to the Holy Spirit for guidance. 

Learning to tell the difference between inner voices which we hear:

The Spirit brings courage and life wherever he speaks. He is the Spirit of victorious life. When we listen to the Spirit we are working WITH the current (rather than paddling upstream) of God’s work in his Creation to bring light out of darkness, good out of evil, strength out of disease, joy out of sorrow.
